I wish you a Happy Sri Krishna Janmastami, dear friends!
Today we celebrate the joyous occasion on which Krishna appeared in this world over five thousand years ago. ….
Historically, we first come to know of the divinity of Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, the oldest sacred text in the world. Here Krishna’s identity is revealed as that divine flute player who sends out a love call to all souls, inviting them to relate to him in loving intimacy.
Divinity longs to lovingly connect with all our hearts, and relieve us of the trying circumstances we face in this material world. As Krishna in The Bhagavad Gita, ever so lovingly and compassionately brings Arjuna out of his crisis and back into his heart, he longs to do the same for all souls.
“One who truly knows
the birth and acts
of my divine being,
Upon relinquishing the body,
does not come to another birth-
such a person comes to me, O Arjuna”
Bhagavad Gita Chapter 4, verse 9
May your own hungry heart eagerly respond to Krishna’s divine Love call on this most beautiful of days!
